It’s one of the most important things you can do to achieve success in any area of life.
Achieving goals is something we are programmed to do at a basic level: when we don’t know what lies ahead or what we might need to achieve that future vision, our subconscious mind will come up with some sort of goal that will help guide us along the way (this is called an end-goal).
End goals are essential because without them we wouldn’t be able to set long-term or more difficult goals. So how would practicing goal setting help you? Keep reading to find out…
- Stay consistent
The best way to get in the flow and stay consistent is to create a routine. This doesn’t mean that you have to wake up at 6 am and do yoga at the same time each morning. Rather, it means that you have a certain time of day when you get in your flow and do things that are important to you. For example, I organize my time so that I get to write blog posts between 9-11 am, 1-3 pm, 5-6 pm, and 9-10 pm. This way, I have a block of time where I can focus on my creativity and create content. I am consistent because I know that when I wake up early, I am getting in my flow for the day.
- Realize your dreams
As you begin to stay consistent, you will be faced with very real challenges. However, with a little creativity, you can find a way to overcome them. For example, I have had many challenges in my life with staying consistent because of my full-time job. However, I have found creative ways to work around them.
However, one of the most important aspects of staying consistent is realizing your dreams. Many people want to reach their dreams, but they don’t realize what they are dreaming about.
When you realize what your dreams are, it will be much easier to stay consistent. For example, I have always wanted to become a published author both in terms of research and content. I have written many blog posts, but I have yet to get them published. I realized that my dream was to get published, so I created a plan to get there. I created a list of questions that I wanted an editor to ask me when I submitted my work to be published. And still, I am on my way, having my steps toward my goals.
- Reach your goals
As you continue to stay consistent, you will begin to realize your dreams and reach your goals. For example, I realized that I wanted to be a published author, so I created a plan to get me there. However, I didn’t stop there. I began to think about what would get me closer to my dream of being published.
What could I do that would help me achieve this goal? This is when I began to brainstorm blog posts that I could write about popular topics to get us closer to getting published. I began to create my niche, and this is what made it easy to stay consistent with blogging.
